When to refer?

Does your child present with any of the following communication difficulties?

  • Speech sound errors (e.g. saying ‘tar’ for ‘car’)

  • Difficulties understanding language (e.g. answering wh-questions, following instructions, understanding stories)

  • Late talkers or difficulties finding the right words/putting words into sentences

  • Literacy difficulties (e.g. recognising letters and sounds, reading and spelling words)

  • Stuttering/repeating word (e.g. 'I..I..I...want to play outside.')

  • Social skills (e.g. difficulties making friends, joining in games)

How to refer?

1. Fill in our contact form below.

2. Receive a free 15-minute phone consultation.

3. Complete our intake form and provide relevant reports and letters (e.g. previous speech pathology reports, paediatrician letters, GP referral forms, if available).

4. Attend an initial parent/carer consultation and assessment with your child.

Generally in an initial consultation, the following will be completed:

  • a case interview with the parent/carer and child (where appropriate)

  • formal/informal assessments according to the area(s) of concerns

  • goal-setting with the child and family

  • a discussion on service delivery (e.g. therapy approaches, frequency and location of service, direct/indirect therapy, expectations)
